 Dan’s romantic “Pride and Prejudice” proposal to Gabrielle included these beautiful words: “You have bewitched me body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. And wish from this day forth never to be parted from you.” Gabrielle, sharing this truth, agreed and the journey to their wedding day began. Nestled in the hills of Placerville, the David Girard Winery was the perfect setting to reflect the feelings of warmth, abundance and family for their wedding. The rich purple and burgundy colors of the flowers, dresses and table settings enhanced the warm feelings. Bunches of lavender adorned the aisle chairs and scented the air for the outdoor ceremony in the Hilltop Amphitheater. The intimate ceremony was full of laughter and heartfelt tears as Gabrielle and Dan declared their love for each other. Their beloved dog, Harvey, was the official videographer of the day and voiced his happiness and approval of the occasion, and followed them down the aisle after their loving kiss. Love enveloped the amphitheater and the happy crowd returned up the hill to the reception hall. A stunning and enormous handmade quilt depicting both family trees for the bride and groom was the backdrop for the sumptuous cake table. Family was the emphasis for this gathering and everyone present felt like part of the family. The beautifully crafted quilt was in the same rich tones of purple and burgundy that carried throughout the room. The table was heavy as a Thanksgiving feast with fruits, vegetables, jars of homemade jam, desserts and a “cake” made of wheels of cheese! The farm style tables were welcoming and abundant with deep purple linens, heaping fruits and vegetables, and jars of homemade jam. Gabrielle is a veterinarian and Dan is an attorney, so it was only fitting that the sweetheart table replace the traditional “Mr and Mrs.” signs with a more suitable “Dr. and Esq” signs.
