 “Nothing Bundt Joy” The constraints of travel and large group gatherings in 2020 had scaled down Waverly and Michael’s wedding from a big celebration in Arizona to an elopement at the Fairmont Sonoma in Sonoma, California. Only eight of the couple’s family and closest friends attended, one of whom officiated the ceremony. They embraced the couple in their joyful presence. A profusion of seasonal blooms of dahlia, zinnia, and amaranth in Waverly’s bouquet from Flower Mama signaled the autumn palette and complemented the California mission-style architecture of Fairmont Sonoma. Following the ceremony, a signature ritual at the Fairmont is “sabrage” -- where a staff member swished a saber to dramatically open the celebratory champagne! Warm, heart-felt toasts ensued. The couple then exchanged decadent bites of their wedding cake, a two-tiered bundt cake from Waverly’s family-owned franchise of Nothing Bundt Cakes.
